The organizers of last year’s highly acclaimed Super T-20 Aurora Night tournament have received unprecedented demand from the Chicagoland Cricket community to conduct a similar day tournament in 2009.



In response to this high demand, ICMC has decided to announce plans to conduct a summer cricket league this year, which will be known as the ICMC OPEN 2009.
All teams are invited to join this league and participate in an exciting season of high quality Cricket.



Following are highlights of the plan for this league, which is in part sponsored by DIRECTV in addition to other local and national sponsors-

• Mission - As the name implies, this is an OPEN league. There will be no restrictions on players from other leagues from participating in ICMC OPEN 2009. This model was critical in making last year’s Aurora S-T20 night tournament one of the most competitive and thrilling tournaments. We aim to follow this best practice this year for the day season as well.
• Fees & Format – Season fee is $1300 per team for 15 matches. Each team will play 12 matches in 30-30 format + 3 matches in 20-20 format. So, all teams will play 15 matches prior to playoffs.
  • Discounts for teams with a high number of youngsters and full time students may be available through sponsors. This benefit will be reviewed and awarded on a case by case basis, but a common model for providing discounts to teams promoting youth involvement in Cricket will be published soon.
• Awards – High quality prizes will be awarded to winning teams and players with best performances at the end of the season.
